in 1993, ken moved to new york city and returned to college. while in college, ken went to work part-time for instinct records (to whom he was legally signed as an artist through 1994).

in 1994, ken made a 6 track low budget recording entitled new moon rising of electronic and ambient work under the name taurus1, which met with some positive response from new york labels, but needed further post-production work and more material. since ken was too busy finishing college, this did really get off the ground in time to release it...

in 2008, ken remastered the recording from the original DAT tapes, which included 2 addtitional tracks, and excerpts can be heard at the taurus1 myspace page.

currently ken still continues work as an electronic producer/artist as taurus1, having laid the groundwork for more than 10 densely created tracks in his now computer based production studio, where ken uses layered percussion, bass guitars, acoustic and electric guitar as well as a multitude of production software and classic synth emulation tools such as: Cubase, M-Tron (mellotron), Pro-5(prophet 5), B4 (b3 organ), Model-E (moog) as well as some of the analog gear that was used for "new moon rising"

the new material defies categorization, and features more live instrumentation actually played (at least once..hehe) by ken and special guests including members of his former Boston band mr. cairo and others. it pays homage to kens' roots in experimental, progressive rock, jazz, and world music, and also delves into some of the more recent trends in electronic and urban music.
